It was Ronald Reagan who established Martin Luther King Day a National Holiday in 1983. The 1st holiday was observed on Jan. 20, 1986. Martin Luther King Day falls on the third Monday each January.

Don't laugh

Yesterday morning I fell out of my car at the church parking lot. Hey, it was wet outside. I have a big cut on my knee and a bruise on my ankle. I know its not that bad but it still hurts.

Josh and Thailand

Josh is leaving tomorrow morning very very very early to go to Thailand. He'll be there for 17 days! He'll be doing all sorts of things. I am worried that he'll...get hurt or something worse. This is what Cherise wrote on her xanga about it.

"Have you ever felt like this could be the last time you see someone?
My brother Josh is going to Thailand soon. The other day I was reading about the missing & crashed planes in that region of the world... then thought about the various diseases, wild creatures, and dangers over there... and I was struck with this terror that he won't come back. I said goodbye to him last night, and it was just weird. I don't know where this fear is coming from. This morning in a devotional and then in a song on the radio, God reminded me that heaven is our true home. So if Josh (or anyone that knows the Lord) goes on from here, they are merely going home - which is far better. But I will still pray for his safety, and for the safety of our friend he will be visiting."

Here I am at Kelsey's house for the first time a really long time. I normally stay home or babysit Jake. She's so cute. She lets Jul and I do her hair! Seth and Noah don't let me do it. I wonder why... Speaking of Seth and Noah, they came this morning! Mrs. Debbie had saved up on her off days at work so we didn't have Seth and Noah for a couple months or so. Noah can run a lot faster. We danced to Veggie Tales with Seth, Noah, and Kelsey when we got to her house,(we have Veggie Tales on cd) and ran around a little bit. It's fun being with them. Their so cute. Oh, I'm sorry for talking about babies too much.

I forgot to put in my last post to tell you that we went to see The Prestige it was very...weird. But I liked it. Near the end of it I was thinking "Man, I hope they explain everything or I'm not gonna like this movie." Then they explained it. But it still didn't end that great!

HI ERIKA!!!!! I still wanna get in touch with you!! We need to make a time to get online and talk! Oh, do you know how to comment? Yeah, so Julia and I want to talk to you sometime.

Sunday-Wednesday

The new years game night thing at church was really weird for me. I was sometimes with teens, sometimes with younger kids, and sometimes with all of the adults with no other kids. It was fun tho I guess.


Monday morning we went to Cherise's house first thing. We listened to Odyssey the whole way there. It took us 4 hours to get there. It was SO fun!!!! I am really glad we went. We met Cherise's roommate Katherine, and Josh's girlfriend Katrina. Both are called "Kat." They are both really nice. I like them a lot. Hopefully I'll have some picture's up. Tuesday morning we went near amazment square and walked on a paved path through the woods. We had to go around a fence to get where the path was. Josh, Kat, and I walked up this really steep...ya know those things on the side when you go under a bridge that are like slanted? Well that's what we walked up. You had to lean over like all the way to walk up it and on the way down you had to lean back really far. Once I got to the top I got scared cause we were so high up and it was scary. I love being where Cherise and Josh are. We met Sam Tuesday night. I didn't talk to him though. We played Boxers and Briefs, and Friends Scene It. It was very fun. We got back today around 3:45 p.m.

Josh is coming home tomorrow for good! Woohoo!

Cherise and Josh left today. =( It's always hard getting back into routine, after they've been here for a while. *sigh*

Yesterday we played a ton of games. We litterally played them all day. We played Succatosh twice, Bolderdash, Zigity, Ruckus, Gold Digger, Apples to Apples, Risk, and I think a few more. I played all of them but some games just Cherise, Josh, Julia and I. Some Alina, Cherise, Josh, and I. And others my whole family. It was fun. After dinner we had a camp fire outside using the new fire pit thing my mom got for my dad for Christmas.

We took all our Christmas decorations down today also.=(

I want to THANK everyone for the gifts you gave me. They were very nice. Even if you didn't get me one thank you for reading my blog.

We opened our presents at my house at like 8:30, then went to my grandparents house for the day. It was fun. We played a lot of games. Including Succatosh, Cranium twice, Catch Phrase, Totally Gross, Rummee 500, and 5000. It didn't feel like Christmas at all no matter how many presents I opened. We talked a lot, and we stood around the piano and sat around the room singing. That was different but it was fun. Some people did some solo's. I recorded my Uncle Jim singing a solo fal seto(how it sounds, you know what I mean) on my new mp3 player that I got for Christmas! It sounds very high. LOL. We left my Grandparents house around 10. Over all it was very nice.

How unfair, how depressing, how maddening it is for your good friend to be accepted just like that. But still you and so many other people aren't accepted... yet still being left out, still being forgotten, still being the "odd" one out.

Christmas plans

Yea so Josh is coming home Friday, and Cherise will be home hopefully Sat. but probably Sunday. =( Oh and Christmas Eve we're going to the Abrenathy's house after chruch that morning, then going from their house to chruch again. But I really wanna come home for some time that afternoon. Then Christmas day we're gonna go to my Grandparents house for the day. They live 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Yea, so that's what I'm doing.

Help!

Today

Today was very interesting. I managed to sleep into 10:00, get all my school done and take a shower before 12:20, then I ran out the door to get to my orthodontist appointment at 12:30, got my colors changed to red and green (Christmas!) and now they have me wear rubber bands. Then as we were pulling out of the otho, a car ran a red light and almost ran right into us! I was in the front seat, it was really scary! I screamed as mom stepped on the brakes, and the other car missed us by a inch!! To cvs we went next to get some advil for my teeth (cause rubber bands hurt), and then kfc and then we were on our way to Recreational World to get our trailer back. They were fixing it because the mice ate our camper. But that's another story! Anyways, on the way there we ate our lunch from kfc. I got mac and cheese (I know I know) and the girl didn't give us any forks or spoons so Julia ripped off a piece of her box and gave it to me to scoop out my mac and cheese. So that was new. I never used cardboard to eat mac and cheese...or anything else for that matter. The way home was uneventful. And so will be the rest of the day. Until small group...That should be full of boring events! Yea, anyways, that's it. Hope you enjoyed reading about my "wonderful" day. BYE!

Stuff

Lots of stuff happened today...Including getting lost, almost getting killed, being bored to death by a guy teaching collage people about theology, falling, hurting myself, Josh laughing at me be cause I fell and was "rolling around" he says, shopping, and being gone aaaaaaaaaaalllllllllll day long. Very interesting. i won't talk about the blast game. most people got it covered. Cherise is coming home tonight! Thanksgiving is this week! josh is home. I'm gonna rearrange my room this week. I have a cut on my tounge that feels like a bump. check alina's blog on the comments that last time i checked has 67 comments!!! the last 9 are by me. yea julia has gymnastics tonight, and tonight is the last night of her gymnastics. that's whats going on with me. What are you doing for thanksgiving. OH and my grandparents are coming wednesday. I just got news, Julia is not going to gymnastics tonight shes very tired.

Thursday the 19th

Okay so everything was normal...get up, play with the boys, we were supposed to leave at 9:00 to drop Julia off at babysitting and then I would come with mom to bible study at the church to watch Jake. Well Mom forgot that we had to leave at 9 until 9:02, she was still talking with Mrs. Debbie (she was picking up Seth and Noah). So mom was helping Mrs. Debbie by bringing the diaper bag to her car and Julia comes out of the house and shuts the door...without getting the keys to the house and the car!!! So here we are locked out of the house and no way to get Julia to babysitting and mom and I to bible study. We normally have a car key under the car but we lost that when our car got towed that one time...that's a different story, and we also kept a house key on the trailer, but we had lost that one, too. So mom went over to the neighbors house to see if they still had the key from when we were on vacation. No they thought they gave it back. So Julia is standing at the door and prays "God, please help us get this door open." And then she had the idea to kick the door with her foot, and the shut all the way locked door swung right open after the hit it with her knee!!!!! THAT WAS ALL GOD. We dropped Julia off at babysitting and went to church...which was locked and mom had lost her key to the church some time ago. Mrs. Laura usually was there but she wasn't. Mom and I almost went to the locksmith nearby and get an extra house key made and a car key, but we decided she would be back soon. 5 minutes later she pulled in and let us in. Guess where she came from. The locksmith making us a church key!! But she copied it from a copy so it didn't work. I thought that was pretty cool. Everything was uneventful until we were going to leave. Mom asked me if I had the keys. I said, "Why should I have them?" "I thought I asked you to get them out of the library" She said. So I went and looked in the library for the keys and they weren't there. Then mom asked me to go look in the car to see if we locked them in there. I went out and they were in the ignition!!! ARGGG!!! Now what? I thought. Mom called the locksmith to see if he could come down and help us but he wouldn't be able to come help for another 45 minutes, and we didn't bring any school to do! Mom called dad to tell him what was happening, thinking he wouldn't be able to come help us cause he would be a half hour away on a job, but he was only 15 minutes away! So he came and got his key and unlocked the car! We were saved! WOOPIE! Right after that we went and made copies of our keys. In one day we managed to lock ourselves out of the house, church, and car!!
